Metro rail is a specially designed High Speed Rail which runs in Metropolitan cities. Such real was introduced so that busy people can move from on place to another quickly avoiding traffic jam. Dhaka metro rail is a milestone in the communication system in Bangladesh. The 20.1 km metro rail will run from Uttara to Motijheel. 24 Trains on both sides will carry 60,000 passengers per hour and 500.000 a day. There are six coaches in each train. Each train will carry 2308 passengers. It will take 40 minutes to reach Motijheel from Uttara. It will have stations at 16 points. At present a part of it has been completed and inaugurated. It has start transporting passengers from Uttara to Agargaon station. The city dwellers can now smoothly and quickly move from Uttara to Agargaon. When the entire project will be completed, it will save thousands of hours of the city dwellers that they loss in traffic jam. They will be able to reach there working place smoothly. They will be able to travel at very low cost and in a very short time. The rail will ensure a safe and comfortable journey for the dwellers. Beside it will make people free from the suffering of traffic jam and will help the reduction of air pollution. People living outside the city will also be benefited greatly after the completion of the project. They will be able to come to the city timely on important purpose and will be able to return to their respective places wasting no time. This dream project will transform the capital city into a cosmopolitan on the world will be acquainted with a new Bangladesh.

মেট্রো রেল একটি বিশেষভাবে ডিজাইন করা হাই স্পিড রেল যা মেট্রোপলিটন শহরগুলিতে চলে। এই ধরনের বাস্তব চালু করা হয়েছিল যাতে ব্যস্ত মানুষ ট্রাফিক জ্যাম এড়িয়ে দ্রুত অন্য জায়গায় যেতে পারে। ঢাকা মেট্রো রেল বাংলাদেশের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থায় একটি মাইলফলক। উত্তরা থেকে মতিঝিল পর্যন্ত 20.1 কিলোমিটার মেট্রোরেল চলবে। উভয় পক্ষের 24টি ট্রেন প্রতি ঘন্টায় 60000 যাত্রী এবং দিনে 500.000 যাত্রী বহন করবে। প্রতিটি ট্রেনে ছয়টি করে বগি থাকবে। প্রতিটি ট্রেনে 2308 জন যাত্রী বহন করবে। উত্তরা থেকে মতিঝিল পৌঁছাতে সময় লাগবে ৪০ মিনিট। এটির 16 পয়েন্টে স্টেশন থাকবে। বর্তমানে এর একটি অংশের কাজ শেষ করে উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে। এটি উত্তরা থেকে আগারগাঁও স্টেশনে যাত্রী পরিবহন শুরু করেছে। নগরবাসী এখন সহজে ও দ্রুত উত্তরা থেকে আগারগাঁও যেতে পারবে। যখন পুরো প্রকল্পটি সম্পন্ন হবে, তখন এটি শহরের বাসিন্দাদের হাজার হাজার ঘন্টা বাঁচাবে যে তারা যানজটে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হবেন। তারা সুষ্ঠুভাবে কর্মস্থলে পৌঁছাতে পারবে। তারা খুব কম খরচে এবং খুব কম সময়ে যাতায়াত করতে পারবে। রেল বাসিন্দাদের জন্য নিরাপদ এবং আরামদায়ক যাত্রা নিশ্চিত করবে। পাশাপাশি এটি জনগণকে যানজটের ভোগান্তি থেকে মুক্ত করবে এবং বায়ু দূষণ কমাতে সহায়তা করবে। প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হলে শহরের বাইরে বসবাসকারী লোকজনও ব্যাপকভাবে উপকৃত হবেন। তারা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজে সময়মতো শহরে আসতে পারবে এবং সময় নষ্ট না করে নিজ নিজ স্থানে ফিরে যেতে পারবে। স্বপ্নের এই প্রজেক্টের মাধ্যমে রাজধানীকে একটি কসমোপলিটানে রূপান্তরিত করবে বিশ্বের বুকে পরিচিত হবে নতুন বাংলাদেশ।
